We don’t typically handle this type of product, but we made an exception for a loyal client. The vehicle was brought in due to power loss under load. Our diagnostic scan identified low performance from the air mass meter and insufficient boost pressure. Upon examining the air mass data under full load, we found discrepancies in the air mass reading on bank 2.
Back at the workshop, we began with the basics. A smoke test revealed that there was an excessive leak from the bank 2 intake manifold area. After some stripping and a closer look, we noticed that the manifold had a crack on it. We then replaced the manifold and reassembled. Another smoke test showed no leaks.
After erasing all fault codes, we took the car for an extensive motorway test run and confirmed the issue was resolved.
